Gap. They have 40 or 50% off often.

Nope. Was not happy in those sizes. I had horrible back pain between my shoulder blades all the time. I didn't discover about sizing until age 30 and it changed my life.

This is what I suspect. I think my neck/shoulder/nerve pain down my arm on my larger side is from my bra strap pressing on my shoulders in attempt not to fall off my shoulders. I think this issue would be even worse with a longer band!

Wacoal suggests the adding inches to the band thing. I sent their fitting experts an email with my issues. It will be interesting to see what they say. The other place I ordered from last month(and returned) used actual measurements for sizing and sold Wacoal. Same bras, 2 different ways to measure. So confusing!

Edit/Update: Wacoal responded with a recommended size for me (30G in U.S./ 30F in U.K. sizing) in a couple of their bras. No explanation about the differentiation on their site about how they size. Since they offer free returns, I've ordered a couple and will see how it goes....pretty expensive though.

If this is a let down, I guess I may try Third Love.

My oldest daughter was in a 32 DD, I took a couple 40D bras, cut off the latch part and resewed them on the band. It made them practically racer backs but they held her stuff in well =D

I hate Victoria secrets advertising and I know some don't like the fit of their bras, but I have yet to find a bra that fits better and is more comfortable than the body by Victoria line. I'm a 32dd and they go up to a 32ddd in 32 band sizing. I measure 30/31 in band so I do end up adding an inch or two but I have tried 30inch bands in other brands and they were not comfortable even after wearing them for a couple weeks to let them break in. So depending on comfort and brand, adding inches may not be wrong. I definitely don't think you should add more than a couple though because that will mess up the fit. Target also has size 32 bands you can try but they only go up to a D cup and their fit was off for me. In their bras I needed a 34 band but the C cup was slightly too small and the D cup was slightly to big. I do have a tiny bit of space in my VS bras right where the strap meets the cup but if i go down a cup size the don't fit. If I criss cross the straps it goes away but unfortunately I can't do that because the weight gives me neck pain.

Also don't let the them size you at VS because it will be off. They put me in a 34C which was huge in the band even on the tightest hook.

I think Victoria Secret is also having their semi annual sale right now so you can get them for $25.

In my current search for an actual bra that fits, I remembered you ladies! I mean, this isn't something one wants to put on FB. LOL

I'm a 32 band, G or H cup in US sizing. That is, if I measure my band size as the exact measurement of my rib cage and the cup size by how many inches I measure at the widest part of the bust.

Which brings me to this: So many places have you measure your band size, add 4-5 inches, then figure cup size from there. OR, measuring from your back bra band level to above the breasts in front (lookin' at you, VS).

If you go that route in order to be able to purchase a bra from a department store, have you been happy with it? I'd think it'd be way too loose around the band...

Because a 36D would sure be easier to find than a 32H.....
The "add inches to the band" thing was done decades ago because having large breasts was unseemly so instead those of us with anything larger than a C cup were told to add inches to our band so our cup size would go down. It is all baloney and you will only be in pain.

In reality you should measure your band size parallel to the floor and then go down to the nearest even number. This gives you the most time with a bra as it stretches out.

Ive wanted to try third love. I get so many ads about them, but I really hesitate because I've not seen a SINGLE model with cup sizes above DD who was fitted properly in the pictures. If that is what they think is proper fit I want none of it.

Things like the underwire not sitting between the breasts against the actual breast bone but floating - this is terrible fit. Or one lady had the underwire sitting 3-4 inches BELOW her breasts. It was practically at her waist. She had a short torso anyway and that was not helping her.

If you do try it I'd be interested to hear how it goes. I'm a 28/30 band with a F-H cup.

Went to Dillard's yesterday. The only bra in my size in the clearance bin was too tight. WHY do Wacoal never go on sale? I do not want to pay $60 for a bra!

Wacoal recommended 30G (US) and I ordered 4 bras (thankful for their return policy because at least 4 will be going back. Either I am not used to how tight a bra band should be or .... bruised ribs are a norm. hehe Most of them the cups were too small on one side at that size.

I sent their fit experts another email with details and asking for suggestions on getting a properly fitting size. They are going by the measurement under the bust (only they went *down* to the next even # of inches where I'd been going *up).

And then the difference between US/UK/EU sizing makes it even more confusing, hence my contacting them again to ask for help, versus just ordering the next size up.

My favorite/best fit was the Freya Idol Balcony T-shirt Bra. ($68 But if it'll last 2 years......maybe it'll be good. )
