buying a new microwave
Anyone been through this recently? Ours died, and I am finally getting around to getting a new one. It will be installed over the stove. We went to look once, but I want to go tomorrow, pick one, and be done with it. We don't need a convection oven because we have a toaster oven. One thing I've considered is that our dishwasher (our only stainless steel appliance- slowing changing over as we replace appliances) is some kind of smudge proof finish that only one brand has. These two things will not be next to each other, so probably not that noticeable. But I could get the microwave in the same line, though I know that a company who makes a great dishwasher may not make a great microwave. (Can't remember which company it is).
Reading reviews online just makes my eyes cross. I could continue researching this for three months or I could just make a gut level decision and be done with it. Anyone have any tips or info to share?

Re: buying a new microwave
Directions on frozen foods seem to all be for 1100 watt microwaves now. I don't know if they even sell lower ones anymore, but in case they do...shoot for 1100.

Re: buying a new microwave
When we redid our kitchen, I ended up with different brands for all the appliances, though all stainless steel. It looked fine. I did choose the same stove & microwave, since they were so close in proximity. I really loved the one we got - a GE. I will see if I can find a link.
When we moved 2 months ago, I left my microwave behind. So had to go buy a new one. Just picked up a basic one from Walmart. They sell microwaves less than 1100 watts, though these were for countertop ones. I loved the kitchen timer - used that a ton. And the express cook buttons. I don't really cook food in my microwave, use it mostly to reheat, so I just got the basic one that got good reviews. Like I said, I picked out our stove first and just got the same brand of microwave. Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk
