Corn allergy and honey
They say that a lot of bees are fed corn syrup in the production of honey. That makes me wary to eat it, since I'm trying to avoid corn products. Thoughts?

Re: Corn allergy and honey
Yes, that's true. They take the honey and then feed the bees corn syrup instead, since they've taken the honey that would have been their food source during the winter. Cross-contamination is obviously an issue here.
Some people are sensitive enough to corn that they have to be find honey that isn't contaminated. Others can get away with it. So it's up to you how you react to corn to decide if sourcing corn-free honey is a necessity for you. There are so many places that corn is hidden in our diets! It's maddening.

Re: Corn allergy and honey
C has a corn allergy but does okay with hidden sources. Buying local and getting to know your beekeeper is great though whether allergic or not.
