Re: Decluttering thread!
I have a hard time getting rid of boxes because I think I need them to store things until I get rid of them. James keeps them because he thinks we need them to ship gifts to people or to use them to wrap gifts. That we live near everyone we would give gifts and have sworn we are springing for gift wrap is not important.

Re: Decluttering thread!
Finished going through my son's closet. Now to start the rest I the room. Oh , I did his bookshelf today. And moved the hall bookshelf to the kitchen because we need the kitchen storage. That was all made possible by purging an overflowing hamper full of books.
Purging books is THE Hardest!!! |

Re: Decluttering thread!
A handful of the books got reclaimed by oldest. Find memories and all that.
Some went to a friend. Remaining have to be sorted (used bookstore/trash/yard sale) My oldest is having a yard sale with some friends on Saturday so I know some outgrown clothes, shoes, toys and books will leave this weekend. Spending another hour on the boy's room today. Taking a bag to goodwill on my way into work. I had no idea it got this bad here! |

It's a good idea, though. My three would be fabric crafts, yarn/fiber crafts, and paper crafts. Baking doesn't count - that's food, and food is a neccessity.

Re: Decluttering thread!
I have been cleaning out drawers, cabinets and closets during the past week. I found two unopened boxes of Kleenex in my master bedroom closet - they were inside a crate like box, and I found a few other items that I did not know that I had. We filled our recycle trashcan in the house totally full (it is a tall kitchen trash can) and I threw away a lot of other junk. I re-organized the closets and drawers and now I can find things better and I now have a big plastic storage bin in the garage full of items to get rid of.

Re: Decluttering thread!
I dropped off a small box at the thrift store, despite my mother, who went with me, saying "You can't get rid of that! It was a wedding present!"
I'm working on the playroom. We have waaay too many vehicles.
