Thought I was having a heart attack

I feel so sick. I have been eating gluten, soy, meat and dairy free for some time now. Then this week I started stress eating. Then today I ate a fried fast food meal for lunch. When I went to sleep I had gas, indigestion and some back pain across the bra strap area. It woke me out of a sound sleep a couple of hours later and now I can't sleep. I am not sure what is going on but it seems that the more I burp the less pain I feel. I think because I thought I was having a heart attack I started having a panic attack. Has anyone experienced anything like this - such bad back from eating wrong?

I have had gas pushing on my heart from eating junk (usually Taco Bell)...but that feels like a cramp in the heart and not in the back

ugh, yes.
it's a combination of gall bladder resenting the food choice and high sodium intake messing up electrolytes and making you feel all anxious and weird.
so sorry, it's an awful feeling

thank you because I am so tired but anxious about going to sleep since I am still in so much pain. It is right where my bra strap goes and wraps around under my arms

It gets worse and then better and then better.

you know, i do have to tell you that it could totally be gall bladder. but it *could* be heart. are you short of breath at all? high blood pressure? family history of heart disease?
i really don't mean to worry you, but you understand that heart things are no joking matter.

ok I just called my docand woke her up. she said I should probably go in. But I'm a single mom with two sleepy kiddos so it's difficult.
she said I could try Tylenol and deep breathing for a bit first but if that doesn't help I should be seen. I'll keep you posted.

I will have feelings that make me nervous about my heart and start into a panic attack making the symptoms seem to magically appear. I can get my thoughts clear though and get out of the attack and I feel perfectly fine.

thank you both so much for praying. I ended up going into the ER. Yhankfullybwe were the only ones there. I woke up my poor babies.
They did some blood work and an x-ray and gave me some meds. I started to feel better when the meds kcked in though it certainly helped my anxiety level just to be there. My mom is coming here soon. She will wonder why I didn't call her.

They think it could be a gall bladder but more likely an ulcer. The blood work for the gall bladder all came out good. I al thankful for this but a little frustrated with myself for waking up the poor kiddos.

I think a lot of it or all of may have been a panic attack but both times I have experienced this in the last month I have eaten way too much, a lot of spice, fat and grease. And salt. So I am going to get the rx and at least have them on hand. Well I had better get to sleep. Morning comes shortly.

Yes lots and lots of pains get mistaken for heart trouble but there is only one way to be sure and that is going to the ER. I asked my mom one day and she said heart pain feels like an elephant sitting on your chest. You feel like you can breath and the pain comes with lots of pressure. You also have nausea and vomiting a lot of times with it. I have asthma and heart palpitations so I was unsure whether my chest pain and shortness of breath was heart related or asthma. Between my mom and a EKG run at the hospital I now know it is just my asthma.

I've had horrible attacks from eating sugar and hydrogenated oils. My heart started racing super fast, I had trouble breathing, I felt weak all over.

I'm relieved you went to the ER--heart attack symptoms can be serious. I'm glad to know it doesn't appear to be anything too serious. Praying for you!

I am feeling better and more confident now. I am getting some prescriptions filled for just in case stuff in the future. I am getting multiple and not very nice lectures from my mother. I hate listening to it but I know she cares abouttye fact that I was hurting and that we all lost sleep. She is lecturing me about exercising so I am going to start walking. Whether last night was nothing or not it was definitely enough to scare me into getting into better shape. I was eating so well but yesterday I just kind of fell off the wagon I guess and I think I won't do that again.
Again thank you so much. You guys are awesome. I always know that this is a safe and nuturing place.
