natural remedies for babies
We're preparing for a baby to join our family through adoption and in this waiting stage I'm trying to look at some natural remedies for babies.
I have read through the sticky "your natural medicine cabinet" however, it doesn't distinguish between what's good for adults, older kids, toddlers, & babies, etc. I have tea tree, lavender, orange EO's and am open to buying more, particularly eucalyptus, oregano, basil, and peppermint. I also know gentian violet is used for thrush. I know Humphries & Hyland for teething. I don't know the best "gripe water". The one's I've seen in the store all have some sort of fructose or sugar in them except one though I haven't looked in a health food store. What other essential oils or natural remedies are ok for infants, older babies, toddlers, kids, etc. Are there any good books, or websites for more information. Aura Cacia has a nursery blend for aromatherapy. Does anyone have a recipe that I could blend my own oils for a diffuser? Any good NON-electric diffusers (hubby hates those plug in things) out there good for a nursery? If there have been other threads about this, please point me in the right direction. I did a quick search and didn't see anything geared specifically to babies so if one exists, I missed it. Thanks! |

Re: natural remedies for babies
Congrats! I love the book Smart Medicine For A Healthier Child. I use mostly homeopathics & this book is right on with recommendations. If it's affordable, a travel kit of homeopathics at Amazon is great.

I looked at the kit and am a bit confused by the description. Is it a SINGLE pill for all ailments or are there MULTIPLE pills for different ailments. I know there's more than one pill in it but not sure how it's set up. Thanks.

Naturally Healthy Babies and Children by Aviva Jill Romm. It has been indispensable.

I didn't count the vials, I'm guessing 18. Each vial has a different remedy. Each vial contains a handful of pills. Arguably, you only need one pill per treatment. A travel kit can last several years.
