Bronchitis...(I should know this by now)

Thoughts on how to get rid of a cough that seems to be heading toward bronchitis?

(It was productive, but now that the original cold has mostly dried up, it's more of an irritated cough. Not totally a dry cough, but wheezier than it should be.

I don't know. I'm in the same boat....coughed myself into an asthma attack tonight. Luckily, the long-lost inhaler that expired 1 year ago worked well enough.

I just got over it (albeit with help of meds) but the biggest thing that helped was a friend who gave me their extra humidifier. I also rubbed CO with thieves oil on my chest a lot. . . Neither got rid of it, but it sure helped some. During this time, I did have a friend suggest . . . uhm, the name just escaped me. . . Some silver something or other??? She said it cleared her hubby's bronchitis right up. . OH! Colloidial Silver? I didn't try it myself, but she seemed to think it worked really well.

I would do things to get it more productive or at least moist again.Like taling an expectorant like plain Robitussin,stay away from cough suppressants,use saltwater steams to breathe in and then do healing things like probiotics and soups or broth with lots of garlic/onion,tea with lemon & honey

What the PP said and Eucalyptus EO if you have it, rub on soles (with oil) or on the chest or in vaporizer. And onion or potato poultices seem to help as well with chest congestion. At least, I've used them on my kiddos...not myself yet

I think I'm taking myself to the doctor today (if I can get into the quick clinic on campus).

I went to the doctor today and she says I have a sinus infection. i'm gladly taking the abx, plus she gave me good cough syrup for at night time. i can't tell you how much i'm looking forward to a full night of sleep.
