Sudden onset of Acid Reflux in a 4yr old?

It started at Christmas. At first I thought that maybe Honey had an upset tummy after the 9 hour car ride, and eating unfamiliar food.

But it's continued. Last night she ate 3 tums (the first two 20 minutes apart at bedtime, the 3rd after waking up screaming at 1am)

What could possibly bring up Acid reflux so suddenly?

In our case the biggest trigger is soy, followed by citrus and tomato. I think. Okay sometimes it can be hard to tell, honestly.

I dont know what would trigger a sudden onset. Has anything changed in that time frame?

The best thing we use for it is papaya enzyme tablets. I even give them to my infant. Tums have sucralose and artificial dyes, both of which we avoid like plague
