The topic of babies falling asleep on your back is something I've been meaning to bring up, so I'm glad it got brought up! So the rucksack is where it's at for napping back wearing babies, huh? What if you hate the ruck? I can do a mean double hammock, but the fabric always slides off her bum in the ruck--I've even tried to make sure she has a nice seat that she's sitting in. And it's just not the most comfortable carry for me. Any advice?
I recently found instructions for Christina's Back Carry on youtube--is that a popular one? I looooove it.

I hate rucks. the straps dig into my armpits. I only do a ruck if I can do some kind of chest belt variation (DRS2S or knotless or something).
christina's is one of my favourite carries. Soooo comfy. In the video, is the person using a purple wrap, by chance? Cause there are only three Christina videos on YT that I know of, and two of them are mine.

that wasn't the video that I initially watched, but I of course had to go back to see, and I like your video way better! Very helpful! And that is a really nifty fleece jacket! I'll have to look into maybe a chestbelt for my ruck, since I don't like it digging into my armpits either. I meant to post this in here last weekend, but my DH wore DD on his back, in public, for the first time. We all went on a date to a putt putt place, and I told him that either he wear DD on his back (because I'm always the one wearing her out and about, and it's getting tiresome..) or get a babysitter. (We haven't had anyone watch her, and he's pretty weary of having anyone watch her yet..) So wearing her on his back it was. However, he wasn't too keen on wearing my Storch Lilly (neither was I, since he doesn't know how to wrap on his own), so we went to our local big box store and got a carrier that shall remain nameless, since DH refuses to pay for an Ergo. He looked pretty cute carrying her around!---------- Post added at 05:34 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:21 PM ---------- just checked out the DRS2S...that looks comfy!

I wore H for awhile on my back in our Light Rainbow Diamond Weave. IDK what kind of carry it was.
I've been watching a lot of videos on Youtube, and they are all mashing together in my mind.

I wore Echo in a back carry in the Gira for the first time today! Actually it's my first back carry in a wrap ever! I used Christina's back carry tutorial. Yes yes Stiina, it was a day late but I DID do it!
![]() ![]() ![]() He's too low, but it was comfortable enough. It was my second try, and he had screamed the whole way through the first attempt and my toddler was trying to swing from the tails until I told him to go play in the sink in the bathroom. I only got nervous when Echo fell asleep...at first I was afraid he would bury his face and not be able to breathe, and then his head flopped way back. Will that be better if I can get him on higher?

Lots of time in the MT for Dd. I even ended up putting ds3 on my shoulders with her on my back (about 3/4 mile hike at bedtime, he was tired).
Really need to work in my wrapping skills.

I'm going to have to try that back carry with A. I have a wrap that I've barely used, and this would be a fun way to break it in.

So I used my new Ergo all over the place this past weekend while we were out of town..even nursed DD in it at the Philly Zoo! Holy cow, do I love that hood for napping! And, until I discovered the Mommy and Me bathroom stalls at the rest areas, it was so nice for quick trips to the bathroom on the long car ride back home.
I still love my wrap the best though!

I haven't done much wearing while on vacation. We did visit with one of my college roommates yesterday (just had her 2nd daughter) and I gave her my mei tai so she can babywear. I hope it works for her. When I get a chance I need to send her some YouTube MT videos.

I'm bringing this thread back because it's fun.
![]() I've been loving Ruck sack lately. I never thought it would happen but it's so fast and easy. I finally got the hang of it and it's almost faster than my RS or MT! I also got a wrap converted Mei Tai that I am loving. It's made from a Storch, and I haven't washed it yet, so it's pretttty crunchy.
