This isn't just about coconut oil, it has lots of things you can do to support healthy thyroid function. http://articles.mercola.com/sites/ar...-part-two.aspx

This article is even better. Great info on lab tests and and the causes if hypothyroid and how to address them. http://articles.mercola.com/sites/ar...h-Thyroid.aspx

I won't do armor because it's porcine.

My endocrinologist had me on this http://www.livestrong.com/article/48...for-your-body/ in conjunction with my naturopath. It worked well.

I'm currently on synthroid because of my thyroid and I've been debating starting it up again

Nutri-Meds has a bovine one, from pastured cattle (i linked it on page 1). I ordered a bottle and it can't get here soon enough. My brain fog is outta control. I'm also going to try to be faithful with my kelp supplement.

Ooooh, I have always been really pleased with Standard Process. My kelp supplement is from SP. I wonder if any of our HCPs sell it http://www.standardprocess.com/displ...log.spi?ID=152

I'm finding this is my problem too. Get the gut healed, enough b vitamins and iron, and it should all regulate again like it had been.

I hope and pray you find what will work for you Lisa.

I'm definitely healing my gut, although I had none of the standard symptoms ... I get a boatload of b vitamins and iron in my diet, although I do need to make another batch of liver pills. I'm hoping that iodine deficiency is my missing link.

I've used some supplements but at times they were too strong and swung me hyperthyroid. I started leaving it to my homeopath and she worked very hard to get me back on track. Since gaps it hasn't been a problem anymore.

I'm chronically low on iron and B. I found out that it can be linked to gluten intolerance. We've only been wheat-free for 3 1/2 months and I'm getting more diligent about making sure everything is GF as much as possible... I'm feeling better so hoping everything is starting to regulate itself again! I muscle tested my iron last week and needed to go up on it. Need to do my B too

My mom has taken Synthroid since she was younger than me and I know it can run in families so I keep an eye out for symptoms in myself...

Did she run the tests for thyroid antibodies? Iodine can make you worse if you have hashimoto's

I just switched from the generic of synthroid to this: http://www.mbiforlife.com/shopexd.asp?id=343&catid=15 It's bovine, organically pastured, etc.

The withdrawal symptoms from the synthroid are finally easing off and I'm feeling pretty good. I'm hoping it continues.

I'm already feeling like my old self after only 5 days on dessicated thyroid and iodine.

I'm reading this thread with interest because I believe I have low thyroid function.

After a month and a half of mid-cycle bleeding I had some blood taken and am awaiting the results. I'll be seeing a naturopath tomorrow to go over the results and begin treatment. Last time I presented with these symptoms I was told I was sub-clinical/borderline and was given iodine drops to take. I have the tiniest bit of iodine left in the bottle so I began taking it again after the blood test and the mid-cycle bleeding has almost stopped.

It really sucks to read a list of symptoms and see that I have amost 3/4 of them. Itchy ears? Cold bottom? Um, yeah, how would I ever have pieced that together. I'm glad the bleeding drew my attention to my chronic neglect of my own well-being.

I am chiming in that I *love* Standard Process. My naturopath in CO Springs recommended them, and I've loved them ever since.

I don't really have anything else helpful to add, because my baseline has always been right at the cusp of hyPERthryoid, so I'm told to do the exact opposite of what you are being told to do.

So glad you are starting to feel better!
