Default Red, itchy vax site

I have some essential oils so thinking maybe one will work for my little guys vax site (Dtap & polio). First time he's had reactions. Would coconut oil help soothe? He's not complaining, just itching.

I'd try some Benadryl cream on it.

I'd put on a topical anti itch cream like benadryl (I don't know essential oils well so if there is an oil that is anti itch you could try that with the appropriate carrier).

Fwiw, dtap reactions usually increase with each side so the 3rd and 4th doses have the highest .

he's never had any reactions & I think this is his last. I think regardless of any recommendations.

I did put the benadryl I had on & he said it stings. Not sure I'll put more on. He doesn't seemed bothered I just don't like seeing him scratch & his arm all red

I'd y something like numbing it with ice, taking an oatmeal bath, etc. Can't remember anything that really helps, especially if even the benedryl cream stings.

I would put a paste of clay and St John's wort (open up a capsule) on it. (It's a drawing salve when used topically, won't affect his moods at all.)

It's better today as in almost gone. But I'll remember this for the next time. I really like that idea.
