Cloth diapers for Lg Toddlers/Preschoolers?

I tried cloth back when my eldest was born. He was allergic to the elastic in thirsties covers and would get terrible rashes that would clear up within hours of being in sposies. :( I just abandoned cloth altogether. Now my youngest is 3, and probably a year or two away from potty training (she has disabilities). I'd like to switch her to cloth. I am so out of the loop for cloth though!

She wears a size 3T, though her legs are about 2T in length. She has a large bottom, most of her pants are too short in the rise in the back. She weighs 33 pounds.

When I look at things online it looks like cloth maxes out at 40 lbs. I don't want to switch her only to have her outgrow them before being able to potty train. Any ideas?

Last time I researched cloth for DS1 (who also has special needs), I was unable to find a good option for bigger kids. Anything I did find was pretty expensive, and reviews weren't fantastic. I ended up getting pull-ups through the health insurance company instead, which has worked out really well for us.

We used Fuzzibunz Toddler, X-Large and Petite Toddler for several years on my then-preschooler at night.

when my oldest was 4 he was wetting the bed nightly but couldn't fit cloth sizes.

So I googled cloth diapers for disabled kids and adults. I found a few things though I can't remember what now. I found some good ones, as well as some patterns.

We use XL GMD workhorses fitteds onnmy 3 year old.. he's tall and lean... 4t in height/length but could prolly still wear 2t in the waist. :p We were usinng wool covers until he outgrew the longies I have in the inseam, and I switched to Thirsties and Bummis PUL covers, size L and XL.

When my ds was four and having lots of accidents, we briefly experimented with putting the thirsties two-size on him on the largest setting and the fit was fine. We quit not because of fit but just because cleaning up accidents was easier than dealing with diapering when he needed to go potty and couldn't take them off or put them on himself. He was a pretty big guy at the time. IME since kids get thinner as they get older, the diapers work for a long time after they say they do. But larger kids produce more urine so you'd probably have to change more often.

I still use size large sloomb organic bamboo fitteds on my 4 y/o at night. He's 43ish lbs, and is in a size small boys. So, they will definitely fit past the weight limit. He's skinny, but not incredibly so. They have an XL size that is 32 lb +, but he's still got room waist wise in the large size. They give the measurements for waist/leg that may help you decide better than weight if they (or something similar) might work. http://sloomb.myshopify.com/pages/size-chart

My 7 year old is only 40 lbs. Diapers that only fit until 40 lbs could last a long time! She's about 40% too. She's not skinny.

Thanks everyone! I'll have to check out all these recommendations. It has been VBS week, so a bit crazy, but hopefully over the weekend I can get a good look.
