EMFs and Sleep

I have always pretty skeptical about EMF stuff, but our boys' room is right on the other side of the wall from our breaker and solar backup system, and their beds are right against that wall (nowhere else to put them in the room). Big J and A had not been sleeping AT ALL, and A had suddenly started peeing on himself almost every single night at the age of 6 (after being dry at night since he was 3) and we couldn't figure out why. I'd observed before that the boys seemed to sleep better when the power was out (a regular occurrence here, especially before we got the solar backup) so I did an experiment and started turning the solar completely off at night and also turning off the breaker to the lights in their room (but not the outlets because they need their noise machine and fan).

I'm not lying when I tell you that the peeing and night waking IMMEDIATELY STOPPED. We've tried leaving the solar on for a few nights a couple of times, and every time he starts to pee the bed again. It's crazy.

So apparently EMFs are real and really do affect sleep, and now I'm wondering what other tinfoil hat EMF shield kinds of things I should get. :giggle If you or your kid is struggling with sleep, it might be worth looking into!

Re: EMFs and Sleep

My husband has GWS. He is definitely affected by the power meter in our sitting room. It is lessor in our bedroom, but our basement living room is where he is absolutely more comfortable in our home.

Seriously there is a line of clothing and hats for EMF. (I have not bought them yet, but I do want to get him a hat at least) There are many things that are out there requiring a tin foil hat that we are finding have basis in truth due to the failing immune system. We both have fibro and react worse on days that have weather changes in pressure, lots of radio signals. When we still had Best Buy in our town, neither of us could stand to go in there to shop. We finally figured it out as all the radio waves they had going on in there. (Also they and other stores were playing that pitch of sound that our age can't hear, but younger people do and tend to not hang around due to the noise.) Our Supercenter WalMart is like that, if I have to go in there, it is a quick, go get what I need and I have to get out. It feels like it just drains my energy to be in that building.

I'm really glad that you are figuring out the disturbance going on with their sleep. (You might want to look into 'grounding' There is a pad you can put on the bed and actually other measures to take in the room) It is supposed to help your body get rid of the signals. (Going barefoot outside for a while on the grass is another grounding measure.)

I felt like this was eye-opening on the possible impact of EMF's:

Obviously one person's experience. But this is something I've been investigating more.

I do know my Fitbit watch made me SO tired.

Yea, we've had personal experience with this too. Thanks for sharing yours.

Re: EMFs and Sleep

Update: Last night our normal power was out so we had to leave the solar on. Well, we didn't have to, but we really like our fans and sound machines at night. Guess who peed the bed for the first time in weeks? Yep. I was up like half the night after that reading about EMFs and now I want to get rid of every electronic thing we own.
