It is entirely possible ....
...that I am overly invested in this little bird trying to build a nest on my porch. She and her mate have been at it for over a week and it was looking pretty good. I just looked out an it was on the ground:( Resisting the urge to get a step ladder and put it back :shifty

Re: It is entirely possible ....
We have one that's been on our porch for a few years now. Her nest has fallen a couple of times and she always rebuilds. Watching her and her mate from my window brings me so much joy!

Re: It is entirely possible ....
If there are eggs I might try to put it back but if not, I bet they rebuild and that'll probably be more secure than a replaced nest.

Re: It is entirely possible ....
No eggs yet from what I can tell. I'll just keep watching and cheering them on.

Re: It is entirely possible ....
Is it a Carolina wren? They are prolific nest builders and sometimes will build more than one before deciding which one to use!

I wish we had wrens!
We have barn swallows every year. It makes a huge mess of poop on our front porch, but I don't care. Dh and I get a lot of joy watching new life every year. :heart |

We got a nest and 4 eggs in our garage this year! But then mama disappeared. :( She never did come back; this was probably 2 months ago and the eggs are still there. It makes me so sad! |
