All good If you go to cnet.com you can download them safely there. Depending on what type of virus/malware/adware you suspect, there are some that are better than others. Another that I recommend is SuperAntiSpyware.

ETA: you can not run more than one antivirus software at the same time, but you can use more than one spyware program. Sometimes it has taken me using more than one to detect all of the issues on a computer.
