The roasts turn out quite well in the crock pot. If you want to eat them as roast-roast, season and sear in a pan on all sides before tossing them in the crock pot. I usually add onions and a little beef broth. If you don't feel like searing or seasoning before you cook them, roasts make excellent shredded beef for tacos, BBQ Beef, Enchiladas, etc.
Steaks can be seasoned and pan-fried, but if you're not a huge fan of STEEEEAAAK!!!! (we like it here...
), you could always chop it up and use as
really really really high quality stir fry.

Of course, if you decide you absolutely.can.not.stand red meat and must have it out of your house, I know a really tall guy and a really short gal who think red meat is as good as dessert.
