Wow, I've never thought about it being dangerous? Mine (the last three anyway) all had their favorite ways to be in the sling. And it's funny because the way they liked best was also the most natural for me to put them in. And it was different for all three of them!

Julianna loved basically "standing up" with the sling just holding her close to me. Her legs, or at least one leg was straight down and her body totally vertical.

Evie loved the cradle position, but she layed down pretty flat. There was never any trouble with her head or cutting off her airway. The only trouble was that I"d forget she was in there

Penelope loves being semi sideways. One leg froggied and the other around my side, facing sideways. She hates nursing in the sling! But because she's froggied in there she is such a tiny little ball of nothing
