Default What do you love from Costco!?

I know this has been a thread before, but I can’t find it! We don’t have a membership, I just go with my folks a few times a year and tomorrow is time for a run!

We eat clean. I do like to grab a few fun snacks that are peanut free, no artificial sweeteners, no msg/yeast extract/hydrolized protein/etc junk.

We just did a big Sam’s run today. Gonna be pretty set on food! Fridge space is tight. pantry can be worked. Freezers are tight.

I love getting :
non peanut nuts and dried mango
really good lemon juice in a glass bottle
Kirkland has a seasoning blend we love

For the pantry...I like to get cans of wild caught salmon and safe-catch tuna. Glass jars of peaches. Cans of garbanzo beans, black beans, tomatoes. Avocado oil and coconut oil. Simple Mills almond flour crackers. Coffee (a number of the whole bean bags are good). I like a seasoning blend too...the no salt one? I don’t get many snacks, but there are a lot to choose from. Grab a pack of toilet paper! Prices on everything are climbing, but they’re still good compared with other stores.

Milton’s gf crackers
Aidell’s pineapple bacon sausage
Roasted veggies frozen
Collagen peptides

I do the bulk of our shopping there. Partly due to quantity (ds19 eats 4,000-5,000 calories/day) and ease of meal planning. I make the same stuff and know what I need there.

We like the Ruta Maya coffee beans, especially for cold brew.

Vanilla extract is a normal price again. I think I paid 10.99 last month.

Ruta Maya is excellent coffee! It's been our go to brand for years

Their pistachios kernels are amazing. Very fresh.

Olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil

Toilet paper

Sparkling water - San Pellegrino bottles

I always buy their fresh chicken breasts, tenders, and thighs because they come in convenient size packages (it's like a 6 pack that you can easily separate with scissors before you freeze) and then that quickly in water on the counter or in the fridge. It's more expensive than flash frozen, but I'm always thawing on the counter and that's hard to do with those.

Hummus and pesto

Garbage bags, paper plates, bar soap, ibuprofen gel caps

Those are some of our "always get at Costco" items

We have a family of four, no teens yet, lol. So keep that in mind.

TP and paper towels
Razor blade refills once in a blue moon
Girl's swim (among other clothing) is particularly well-priced.
Squishmallows (not frequently, but those are favorite scores my kids appreciate)

The fridge section has carnitas to heat in a pan and microwave pot roast. Both are great in general and I like especially for rv camping.

The rosemary ham is nice for sandwiches but eeexcellent in omelets.

The smoothie packs from the freezer section are really good.

Fish sticks are good too!

I try not to go there and probably won't renew my membership next month as I can't get out of there for less than $200.

Air filters, batteries, they have a roomba on sale right now.

Oh, their wrapping paper is actually really nice.

Stamps are actually a smidge cheaper there.

Gift cards to stash for dining out, entertainment, or gifts.

Back to food, if I had that to spend, I'd buy so many pistachios and sparkling waters

Great prices on big bags of walnuts, pecans, etc. Raw sprouted pumpkin seeds. Canned fish. Honey, Agave, oil. It's all so cheap. We get the little individual containers of hummus or avocado. Big jugs "free" laundry detergent. Organic meats and deli meats. Almond flour crackers. They have a lot of organic vegetables. RX bars. GF ramen (just noodles). They have some outer aisle stuff: sandwich thins, etc. Super cheap spices. Yeast. Yard bags Just to name a few!

I didn't realize they had switched their dried mango to unsulfured. Good to know!

I never would have thought to look for shampoo or conditioner - thanks!

Kirkland goat cheese
Rotisserie chicken
Cat food
Napkins
Kirkland sparkling water
Rice
Fresh fruit in season (their prices on produce aren't always better than my regional store)
Kirkland batteries (they are identical to Duracell, made in the same factory)
Kirkland laundry detergent (they have a plant-based lavender one that we like)
Plastic wrap
California olive oil

I have learned to be careful with Costco, not to assume it's cheaper. The first time I bought Qunol tumeric, it was on sale at Costco, $8 off. I assumed that was a great price. I needed it that day, anyway, but when I got home I found out the Amazon price is cheaper than the Costco sale price. Produce that grows in my region is usually cheaper at my regional supermarket than at Costco. Name brand products are often not cheaper than they would be at Walmart.

Kirkland brand products, especially when they're on sale, are almost always a great deal.

Sounds like you found some awesome deals!

No help now in hindsight but I wanted to answer in case others were interested. I'm always looking for good deals.

I always shop the sales at costco. Of course those change regularly.

They have AWESOME clearance deals so I always check those.

The things i buy always at regular price are:

Costco Greek plain yogurt
Chicken nuggets (my kids LOVE these in the air fryer)
Olive Oil
Coconut oil
Real maple syrup
Coffee
Chocolate Chips
Cheese sticks
Nuts (their nuts in general are a great deal - our favourite is the unsalted mix)

Same here. Enough to the point that when I renew, I wonder if it is worth it.

They do almost always have the best gas prices. If I could fill up there every time, it might make it worth it just for that.

My dh is wondering if we should get a membership just for the gas. And maybe the nuts because the ones we get from trader Joe's now have cross contamination for wheat.

We don't have gas available here. But the items that we use a lot of are often WAY WAY cheaper at Costco, expensive items like maple syrup and agave and honey and coconut oil and natural PB, etc. etc.
