Re: Arctic Blast Check In
This is from last Sunday. We've gotten a lot more snow since. I should get a photo of my Suburban.

Re: Arctic Blast Check In
It’s normal here in ND and I actually have learned to enjoy it. My husband and I went for a mile walk this afternoon and it was below zero. Took the edge off my headache!
Thinking of all you who aren’t acclimated! It must be wild in places where cold isn’t typical. |

Re: Arctic Blast Check In
I'm on a farm surrounded by open fields and we get a lot of drifts from the wind with typical snowfalls. This time the freezing rain that followed left about an inch of ice on top of the drifts. I'm three hours north of The Tickle Momster and that Pineapple Express didn't reach us. I have bare patches as well as six foot high drifts covered in ice. Today my dh spent a few hours on the tractor cleaning drifts that might lead to ice damming as the snow starts to melt. Many of our local bridges and roads are closed because of pooling water. Like so many others we have adjusted our Christmas plans. I hope everyone is staying safe and warm.

Re: Arctic Blast Check In
I hope everyone’s ok…. It’s on the news over here that there have been massive power outages in America and Canada. I hope you’re able to have a happy Christmas!

I really love the cold. When it's really cold is when skiing is the best. Warmer snowfall is heavier and wetter. When it's really cold it's pure powder. I do think about the animals, though, especially when we have heavy snow already and there's not much for them to eat. ---------- Post added at 02:18 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:18 PM ---------- Here's my Suburban, barely visible https://www.instagram.com/p/CmlPePyq...RZnrcdlMVgfo0/ |

Re: Arctic Blast Check In
We just had two days of rain, which turned the snow on the roads to thick ice, and our driveway and road were treacherous. To walk from my car to the house I had to hold on for dear life. (main roads were plowed and sanded or salted, just back roads that were treacherous)
So glad to wake up to see fresh snow this morning. |
