I never liked split pea soup until...

... I found this recipe!

Oh, so yummy and none of that dry aftertaste, which is primarily why I don't like most split pea soups. It's made from ingredients I always have on hand, so I don't even have to go buy anything when I get the craving. Have the peas simmering on the stove right now; as soon as Elli goes down for her nap, I can chop up everything else for the next step. So easy!

Split pea is my favorite! I used to get teased all the time in elementary school when I brought it!

Pea soup is a must when I've got leftover ham! It freezes well too.

I dont cook wit canola oil but add olive oil to mine.Wonder if that helps with that dry aftertaste thing having the oil in it.......
