Wraps and SSCs--little update #21
First of all, I need recommendations for a soft structured carrier that fits big people. DH and I are both fat this time around, and the Ergo isn't going to fit. Is there a brand that has a little (or a lot) of extra room in the belt?
Second, wraps for meeeeeeeeeee. I'm pretending the world is perfect and I can have whatever I want. And I'm thinking I would choose a non-stretchy and a stretchy version. And I like these: For the non-stretchy: http://www.calinbleu.com/products/%2...auze-wrap.html And then I like these: http://www.wrapsodybaby.com/shop/pro...hp?prod=alyssa http://www.wrapsodybaby.com/shop/pro...php?prod=rowan The color is a good one for me on the Rowan, but the pattern isn't. I do well in greens, and the Alyssa has some beautiful shades in it. But it's not girly. And I'm having a girl for the first time ever. And while I do want to avoid pink pukage everywhere, I do want girly stuff. Although.......I think I really do prefer the Alyssa. Those that have met me IRL would say I'm pretty similar to how I am on the boards, so knowing me, what do you guys think? Last edited by Eowyn; 05-13-2011 at 09:21 PM. |

Re: Wraps and SSCs
1. They make an extender for the Ergo.
2. LOVE the Amethyst. GOOOOORGEOUS! 3. The Alyssa. No pattern. At least not that pattern.

Re: Wraps and SSCs
I have a Beco II and DH can wear it and he's pretty broad shouldered and a little on the chunkier side.
Love the amythest. Out of the two of stretchy wraps, I would pick the Alyssa. I'm not a fan of the other pattern.

the new ergo performance has a longer waist. I use a nana's jetpack xl or babyhawk oh snap.

Re: Wraps and SSCs
I picked the gauze for the non-stretchy because it gets so, so horribly hot here, and I wilt in heat. I roast in winter, too. Is that a terrible choice?

Re: Wraps and SSCs
its a great choice for small-average babies. If you grow giants like I do you might find you need something more supportive after a bit.

Re: Wraps and SSCs
Gauze is great for summer.
My favorite summer wrap is my Ellevil Zara. It totally rocks - really, really supportive (I wore my preschooler in it comfortably) and thisclose to being as cool as my gauze. I have the original black and white that I bought when they were first introduced. It looks like she's expanded the line a LOT in the last year and there are some new gorgeous colors!
