Re: Talk to me about coconut oil
While reading this thread I stopped *TWO* different times to make CO food ... first spread some on toast with a little honey (it weirded me out without that), then put some in Annie's Mac and Cheese I was making for DS for lunch (and stole a few spoonfuls... yum!). I'm so glad to finally use it! It's been sitting in my cupboard for a few months. (btw, it's the Nature's Way brand, and I like it)
Here's my question: someone said something early on about being careful how quickly you start eating it, like to start small or something... haven't heard anything else about that. Is that important? What happens if you have too much too soon? And aside from the skin, weight loss and STD benefits, is it just a preventive health thing? What are the benefits if used preventively, and how much do you need to be taking per day? What if you just have it occasionally? Still any benefit?

We bought Nature's Way EfaGold Raw Extra Virgin CO. It has a great smell and mild taste to it. We're testing it to see if it will work for our family. |

Re: Talk to me about coconut oil
I just want to comment that I have been using CO for a while as our family's lotion since I joined this thread and it is so wonderful and I love the smell. I got the Nutiva. We have yet to integrate it into our diets but it is awesome skin care.

Re: Talk to me about coconut oil
A has been taking about a tsp internally and it's really helping to reduce her acne and soften her skin.
It did not work for her at all when applied topically. |

Re: Talk to me about coconut oil
I think I just read through this whole thing without crossed eyes. Go me!
I just bought some coconut oil today- it's by Health Support, and is raw, organic, unbleached, cold-pressed, yada yada yada... Is this a good kind? Also, is this stuff okay internally while pregnant?

Re: Talk to me about coconut oil
The type we use does not taste anything like coconut!!! It is in a jar and looks like white hard butter.
