Doubling Dough

Is there a way to go about this? I made my first bread yesterday and I really loved how it came out. I want to make more today as our plan was to stop buying store bread and just make our own at home. So now that I feel more confident, I want to try to make two loaves today. Should I just do two separate batches, or can I double and split the dough? What about baking? Can I bake them at the same time or will that effect it?

Sorry if any of these questions sound dumb. I'm a bread n00b.

Doubling the recipe should be fine. Divide it into two loaves and bake it for the normal time. Depending on your oven, you may want to check the loaves and rotate them halfway through.

I love Peter Reinhart's books. You might check to see if your local library has one. He has GREAT information about bread!
