Re: Mamas that are "Messies" Support Thread
OK, well, my lovely house that looked so nice a week and a half ago has gotten pretty bad again.
It all starts with the dishwasher, I tell you!! Well, actually it started with Thursday, when I was only home for like a few split seconds at a time and when I was home, I had to bake for the places I was going. It has been downhill from there. I got it clean enough to make a cake I had to make for a baby shower last weekend, but it never really recovered. Today I am going to do my dailies and finish them! Sweep floor load dishwasher wash all non-dishwasherable (just made up that word) dishes clear and clean counters vacuum downstairs (if I can lug the vacuum from upstairs) put laundry away (tonight during DWTS- Go Emmitt!!!) That is all really, as I need to do some school stuff and also make sure we are outside enough today, and I have to leave again at 5.

Re: Mamas that are "Messies" Support Thread
I understand.
I have been working like a slave on ds's room - or what is supposed to be his room, and has really just been storage (hey, when you co-sleep, there's time to work on the "baby's room"!). Well, a friend of mine offered me a free bed frame and my mother is going to supply the mattress, so we can start making that gradual move into ds's own room. Anyway, I was making headway, and then today I got a wonderful blessing... ...in the form of little boy clothes, which I desperately need... but now the entire room is filled with bags of *stuff* that is going to take days to go through! |

Re: Mamas that are "Messies" Support Thread
I don't know if I ever posted on this thread but I need to be back here
every 'thing' with a door on it is a mess in my house. pretty clean if you're walking around but DON'T open a drawer or a closet or my laundry room We have too much clutter and I hate it. I am making progress but it seems overwhelming at times. I don't mind 'cleaning' at all (most of the time) It is dealing with 'stuff' that kills me. Papers ACK. I have 3 kids in ps and they bring home tons of papers every day, CLOTHES!! UGH. I hate it. People come over and say 'wow how do you keep your house this clean with 4 kids' and I think 'if you only knew what you couldn't see |

Re: Mamas that are "Messies" Support Thread
The holidays are over, We are all on the mend from being sickies, We bought and installed new lightbulbs today (didn't have the lights for the kitchen for oh me oh my maybe 2months? just used the dining room light)
In otherwords I have no more excuses. I undecorated the Christmas tree. I'll take it down and pack it away tomorrow while DS1 is at school. Once that is out of the way, I can move the rocking chair back to it's corner AND vacuum/dust/pick up the living room. That is the plan anyway. |

Re: Mamas that are "Messies" Support Thread
OK, well, so far this week has been bad, bad, bad!!!
Here is my list of the bare minimum I need to do today: (X-posted) Here is what I need to do: finish unloading dishwasher and wash pots (I am going to cheat and put them all on the Pots and Pans cycle in dishwasher. Is that bad? I have never done that before!) vacuum living room and bedroom clean up bareMinerals that DS shook out all over my bathroom floor *Sunday* (shhhhhhhh) sweep kitchen floor fold laundry spend 15 minutes tidying DS’s room spend 15 minutes tidying the room I am in now. Put new sheets on my bed Make breakfast bars or muffins for tomorrow morning. Then things I also would *like* to do today shred some papers start making a cleaning list/schedule by day/person.

Well the tree is down, in it's storage bag sitting in the middle of the living room. Rocking chair still isn't where it's supposed to be. I did manage to vaccum the carpet "crunchies" And DH "cleaned" our bathroom...basically he took out the trash and picked up the dirty clothes that were overflowing the hamper. I still have to get in there and scrub.

Re: Mamas that are "Messies" Support Thread
Is there anybody else here who doesn't do much maintenance on a day-to-day basis, or what they do just keeps the piles just short enough to keep from toppling over? KWIM? Anybody else?

Re: Mamas that are "Messies" Support Thread
ITU! Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone. I just have this feeling that a lot of the messy moms aren't quite as messy as I am, KWIM? Are you gonna post pics? I'm going to on the blog that I'm a part of...

I can only maintain one area a day, it seems, and the rest just sort of winds up toppling! I am too far behind in most areas to really have much to maintain, though. When I say "spend 15 minutes" it usually clears a path!! I'd be happy to post pics but I don't have the camera this week. ITU about messy moms not being really messy! No worries there as far as I am concerned! Tidying is my worst thing, the floor especially, bending over is just too hard. This week has been bad. Just today alone, we have had 4 potty accidents!!! And the laundry was already backed up. GotMyHeartFul, I am having a bad week also. And I am feeling tons of pressure since I have little time lest to go. Let's support each other!

Amy, thanks for posting about this! I think you have more of an excuse than I do, though, being 8 months pregnant!
