that I made a couple of years ago, when my friend moved away. I forgot to take pics of it

for my records.

So when I went to visit them this weekend, I took pics of it and thought I'd share. Totally my design, start to finish - one of the largest samplers I've designed to date.

Okay, I'm clueless...what is drawn thread work?

And did you use some ribbon in there?

What about the pink background on that one heart...is it fabric, stitching, or what?

That is amazing!!!!

I also looked at your other post about a new project (the hair barrettes)....those should be hanging in a fancy boutique somewhere. Do you sell those?

The drawn thread work on this sampler is hardanger. The pink you see showing through is the backing I framed it with - part of the threads are actually cut and drawn away, and the remainder of the threads in the design are woven over.

I also used needle tatting, blackwork, bargello
, pulled thread embroidery, silk ribbon embroidery,
and some basic counted thread stitches.

About the barrettes - you're the third person who's asked if I sell them. So I guess I do

I've made 2 pair so far - they were really fun to make.
