The Return of Lupus symptoms, looking for some ideas, or relief.
My rashes are back. I've resorted to using steriod cream. They aren't too bad, and are basically small dry coin sized scaly patches. They are bothersome, but they dont hurt, and they don't itch . Other than steroid cream do you know if there is anything else I can do to help these heal, or slough off? Other than joint pain im not having major issues at the moment which is good news. Im probably not going back to rheumatology since they haven't been able to help me, and my doctor prefers to treat it with prednisolone so I will stay away from him as long as I can. Im kind of surprised they are back, and a little disappointed, but that is how it goes, right?

JITS, do you have a natropath? There are definitely some alternative treatments for Lupus and the symptoms you're experiencing - but since you're dealing with a diagnosed autoimmune disease, I really feel like you should be working with a care provider. I can pull out a couple books & tell you what's in them for the symptoms, if you want.

Re: The Return of Lupus symptoms, looking for some ideas, or relief.
No, I dont have a naturopath, but we are going to see a nutrionist in the morning. The key thing about my diagnosis was that two physicians said lupus. Two said maybe "other" overlapping conditions such as chronic fatigue, or leaky gut. That is because I do not have all of the classic Lupus symtpoms that can take many years to develop. In my records it says Lupus, but then I have the conflicting opinions to that. That is one of the main reasons I no longer go to the Dr. It was a huge problem for me that despite the disagreement because I still did prednisolone, and the hydrochloriquine. I will tell you it's bothersome for the symptoms to come, and go. One of the biggest problems for me has been stinging in my feet, and legs. Yet it comes and goes also. So at the end of the day I just kind of give up, and say it is what it is. Do you have any suggestions for finding a naturopath? I do feel that is the way to go vs. drug therapy if I have a choice. Thanks

Re: The Return of Lupus symptoms, looking for some ideas, or relief.
www.alternativemedicine.com has a practioner database
you can check yahoo groups & see if there's a "families for natural living" yahoo group near you. if you know anyone who sees a chiropractor - a chiropractor can be a good resource. The thing about natropathy is that it treats you holistically - so yea, they'd look at your symptom but the remedy would be based on all of you -especially since you're definitely dealing with a complex issue. |
